Mr. David Kobla Fiankor

Mr. David Kobla Fiankor is a professional teacher librarian/archivist. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Librarianship and Post Graduate Diploma in Archival Studies all from University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from University of Ghana, Legon. He has worked in academic libraries at Institute of Local Government Studies, Accra, Ghana and Ho Technical University, Ho and has taught academic courses for the past twenty years. Mr. Fiankor was the editor -in-Chief of the Institute of Local Government (ILGS) Newsletter from 1999 to 2007 and author of a number of research articles and papers dealing with various library and information planning and management.

Mr. Fiankor joined the Ho Polytechnic now Ho Technical University, Ho in 2009 as the Polytechnic Librarian, a position he held until 2016. Prior to joining Ho Technical University, Mr. Fiankor was the Head of Information and Documentation of the Information and Documentation Department of the Institute of Local Government Studies, Ogbojo, Accra from 1999 to 2009.

During his professional work, Mr. Fiankor’s responsibilities include selection, acquisition, and cataloguing information using library and information software; coordinate and deliver information and digital literacy sessions to students, researchers and academic staff; and contribute to academic course development. He served on a number of academic committees and boards including Management Committees, Development Committee, Academic Boards of ILGS and Ho Technical University. Mr. Fiankor also consulted on number of projects and programmes.
