Mr. Killian Kwame Onai is a professional archivist and a teacher. He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology and Information Studies, a Diploma in Archives Administration from University of Ghana, Legon. He is currently a Chief Administrative Assistant with the University of Ghana Archives, Legon where he oversees Archive section of the University’s main Archives (November 2010 to date).
He has worked with the Public Records and Archives Administration Department (PRAAD) for over a decade (1999- October 2010) in various positions, including heading of Search Room by the time of his departure to the University of Ghana Archives. Mr. Onai has assisted several private organizations and individuals with the organization of their records and archives (i.e., Maritime Academy Archives, Korle -Bu Polyclinic Archives including University of Ghana Archives). In 2021, Onai secured seed funding from the Nomadic Archivists Project to establish the Likpe Traditional Area Community Archives in the Oti Region of Ghana.
Recently, he was given additional responsibility to oversee the seting up of the Professor Adu Boahen Memorial Library and Archive at the History Department. He has attended local and international seminars in Archives Administration and Management in Senegal and China.
